UC San Diego is a research-intensive University, surrounded by many other first class research institutes such as the Salk Institute, the Burnham Institute, La Jolla Institute of Allergy and Immunology, and the Scripps Research Foundation. We offer post doctoral training research opportunities in the laboratories of the full-time faculty. There are opportunities to do cutting edge research in microbial pathogenesis, LPS receptors, coccidiomycosis, protozoan parasitology, tuberculosis, and HIV infection, in a Division that spans the spectrum of Infectious Diseases from the research bench to the patient's bedside. Post doctoral fellows who are U.S. citizens or permanent residents are eligible for support on our NIH training grants. Funding is otherwise arranged by the PI.
